Update

(March 15, 2013)

We're already well into the year 2013 - sometimes it seems that time flies by so quickly. Four teams have ministered to our children so far this year, with another team arriving in just a few more days.

Two little cottages have been built at 70 Palms Homes, our transitional housing site for our children as they begin to age-out of the orphanage.

A lot of construction and finish work has taken place at Hope Village with much yet to be done. We are deeply grateful for all the hard work that has been done thus far. Hope Village is an incredible base site for FMI and our teams...the Lord is good! 

Please keep the children in your prayers - two of our little guys, Carlos & Whokenter, came down with some kind of respiratory infection and spent a few days in the local Haitian hospital.  Both boys are well now and back at "home", playing with the other children and working hard on their studies.

Many of the children who call the Gift of God Orphanage in Port au Prince, Haiti — home, have lost one or both of their parents in the floods following Hurricane Jeanne in 2004. They suffered through back-to-back floods in the fall of 2008 and the massive earthquake of 2010. They have endured more hardships in their brief lives than most people will experience in an entire lifetime. However, God’s hand of promise is evident even in the midst of challenges.

Initially built in 2005, the Gift of God Orphanage has been recognized by the mayor of Gonaives, as a model of excellence in the care of orphaned children.

The need in Haiti is extreme. Faith Missions International is committed to prayerfully and intentionally meeting the needs of children in this impoverished nation.
